Risk Monitor Gets a Powerful New Upgrade
SearchInform has introduced a new feature in its Risk Monitor platform — Cloud Data Leak Prevention. It helps prevent corporate data from leaking to cloud services. The tool also tracks how employees use cloud platforms and provides valuable insights for IT and security teams. As a result, they can refine and strengthen their data protection policies more effectively.
The latest version of Risk Monitor now comes with advanced monitoring capabilities for cloud uploads. The system automatically generates detailed reports on files uploaded from corporate computers, allowing security officers to review cloud usage, spot unusual activities, and act quickly to mitigate risks.Statistics: The number and size of uploaded files, complete with timestamps and the types of cloud platforms used.
Within the AnalyticConsole, the new Cloud Uploads report provides a comprehensive overview of how employees interact with cloud services. Administrators can easily access key data such as:
- Statistics: The number and size of uploaded files, complete with timestamps and the types of cloud platforms used.
- Monitoring: A consolidated view of all employee activities, with the option to filter by individual user.
- Behavior analysis: Tracks each user’s upload frequency to detect unusual activity, such as large or frequent uploads. This helps identify potential risks early.
Turning Data into Actionable Security Policies
“Using this data, security teams can fine-tune access and sharing policies,” said Sergio Bertoni, Head of Analytics at SearchInform. “For example, they can restrict access to certain cloud storage or file-sharing services, or allow only non-confidential files like internal event photos — to be uploaded to platforms such as Google Drive, while blocking any uploads of sensitive corporate or personal information.”
Seamless Integration with FileAuditor
“To further enhance visibility over cloud-stored files and employee interactions, our FileAuditor — part of the DCAP solution suite — works seamlessly with Risk Monitor,” Bertoni added. This integration ensures that organizations can not only prevent data leaks but also continuously monitor file movements and user behavior across both local and cloud environments.
New Reports in Risk Monitor
The latest Risk Monitor version also includes new types of structured reports, consolidating information from multiple sources to serve specific security needs. For example, the Cloud Uploads report gathers and visualizes data from the CloudController and HTTPController modules in a clear, easy-to-read format.
Additional new reports include:
- Worktime Summary: Evaluates employees’ average activity levels.
- Free Space on Local Computer Disks: Identifies employee devices with limited storage capacity.
- Browser Extensions: Detects potentially harmful or unwanted browser extensions installed on company endpoints.
